2024: Tamara Klink overwintered alone on the Arctic frozen sea.
Following 2 years of meticulous preparation of the 34-foot sailboat "Sardinha 2" in Lorient (France), Tamara sailed singlehanded to Greenland. She anchored in an uninhabited fjord in Disko Bay and lived in autonomy for 8 months. This was the first registered female solo overwinter in the Arctic.
She dealt with natural and emotional challenges in an extreme context :
* 3 months without sunlight,
* Down to -40ºC temperatures,
* Icebergs and snow as water source,
* +300 hours walking and skiing on the sea ice.
Under northern lights and long polar nights, arctic foxes and ringed seals were her neighbors.
